This Chevelle was originally brought to us to get it to run and drive. We added fuel, spark and a range of electrical work to get this machine fired up. We also added an electric fuel pump since the fuel pump push rod was permantly stuck in the block. We replaced front end bushings and ball joints, aligned the front end, and had her ready to drive away. She was far from beautiful, but did run and drive extremely well. That's when the owner uttered that all so familiar question, “Well, how much do you think it would cost to get it painted?”
Following a pretty Marina Blue paint job and a set of 17” Rallye wheels, there was no point in leaving the interior in its current condition. We are big fans of replacing all the glass, it really adds a clean, detailed look to the car. Bucket seats, console, new carpet, restored dash, upgraded stereo, keyless entry, and all of a sudden, she's starting to look very sharp. You know that a restoration has come along well when even the wife approves of it.
